Bate-Wood Park Community Project

 

Our Mission Statement:

 

THE WHAT:

Create an atmosphere that fosters community, personal responsibility, and a sense of ownership by renovating Batewood Park.

 

THE HOW:

While working in conjunction with Danville Parks and Recreation, provide dedicated volunteers who will organize the resources, manpower, and equipment necessary to renovate the park and facilitate follow-up programs to engender a commitment to park sustainability.

RECENT NEWS:

Gazebo completed, thanks to Lowes Heroes!

Second playground area installed and ready for use

Soccer goals set up

 

     SPECIAL THANKS TO:    

          Centre College's Student Government Association, for donating $7000 to our project

          Papa Johns, for feeding us throughout this project

          Lowes, for the donation of 60+ 4ft sections of rebar

          RJ Corman, for the donation of 128+ railroad ties

          Josh Morgan and the city engineer's office, for working with us throughout the project and providing expert assistance

          Centre's Facilities Management, for receiving and holding onto large deliveries for us, as well as providing tools for us

          John Drake and Danville Parks and Rec, for the playground mulch and support

          The City for allocating $18,000 to our project in next year's budget for the purchase and installation of a new playground 

          FKI Logistics for the donation of two heavy-duty soccer goals to the park 

          Lowes Heroes for the donation and construction of a gazebo for the park

          Most importantly, all of our invaluable volunteers, for taking the time to come out and help make this happen!
